Layover in Perpignon. I loved this city from the first moment. Even though I spent the time sitting in front of a church, waiting for insect-like church goers. Little did I know that I soon would be coming back. But that is another story.
I did not have to wait for long. A two legged human animal approached me soon to beg for some money. then an unfriendly priest opened the church gate, but did not allow me to have a look inside, so I kept reading the novel I had found on the train. A fast paced thriller I just could not lay it down. Every now and then I looked around for the six legged creatures to show up. Then I spotted her, eight legged, but I am not to picky about the number of legs. Spiders for that reason do not count to the insect species, but lets forget that for a moment. the spider stayed with me for over an hour and I did quite some fancy portraits. She was the most beautiful spider I have ever seen. Of course, people were curious about what I was up to. Somebody asked me if I was a biologist. Nope. I am not, are only biologists allowed to like spiders? Then the sun came out and I could take a total different type of shot. I totally forgot about my thriller, the thought that the spider might jump at me anytime kept me alert. My red camera was only 7 cm away from her cute eyes. No idea what, or who she thought I was? Maybe a huge red butterfly? We did not care and just enjoyed each others presence. Once I was done shooting, she disappeared into the church. Going to church is never a bad idea.
